Inspiration 1's work stands balanced on an essential and resilient foundation forged from emotional intelligence and inclusive practices.  Each contributes to increased cultural equity and culturally responsive decision making.

 

The i1 three phase Algorithm has been crafted to foster Connection, build Community, and support authenticity.  We Practice and refine techniques that encourage all voices to speak and ensure all voices are valued, leading to improvements in culture and productivity.  It's about each individual and his/her/their experience first.

Phase: Connection
​

Information is best received when the learner experiences Connection. Connection builds trust in self, others, and the process.  Ideas and solutions are more likely to flow freely in a trusting environment.

​

Phase: Community
​

Being part of a community gives people a sense of affinity.  Communities connect people together in a personally meaningful way.  Support for common goals and for each other becomes internalized.

​

Phase: Practice
​

The pathway to any goal can seem arduous or even mysterious.  A common understanding, or Practice of doing things the same way, brings clarity and can maximize equity by holding everyone involved accountable to the same expectations.

After 20 years in the classroom and gym, teaching every grade from Preschool to Eight Grade, and having served in the positions of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Coach and Professional Learning Community Leader, I made the tough decision to step out of the school building.  I bring those years with me as I strive to fulfill my responsibilities as Director at Inspiration 1 Limited Company (i1). 

 

Whether facilitating a meetings, running DEI workshops or designing asynchronous and hybrid learning, I am committed to employing a humancentric, culturally responsive, and emotionally intelligent approach in our facilitation and education consulting services.

Reflections & Feedback

I have implicit biases that have no place in my role.  I will continue to check that out.

I learned to take my time and trust the process.  The protocols have steps, and each step is critical for the final outcome.  Trust the process.
